About
Trowers & Hamlins are well known for its mix of specialisations combining sector leadership in the UK and across the Middle East. We help businesses and governments change the way we live and work for the better. We do this by providing commercial advice geared towards tackling tomorrow’s challenges in industry.
We are experts in the real estate sector, and have thriving commercial, social housing, banking and finance, private wealth, employment and care practices, in addition to specialist practices such as planning, tax, pensions, and environment.
Training contracts
Each year we recruit 25 trainees split between March and September intakes and based across our UK offices. All trainees undertake four six-month seats, and those based in London have the opportunity to spend time in one of our offices in the Middle East. You can expect to experience a broad range of departments and practice areas over the course of the two-year period.
All trainees are teamed with a supervisor and it is their role to guide you through each of your six-month seats. From the outset, you will be given real responsibility and the opportunity to learn from hands-on experience in a supportive working environment.
Summer Vacation Schemes
Our summer vacation schemes are a great way of finding out what life really is like as a trainee at our firm. We offer 46 places schemes across our London, Birmingham, Exeter and Manchester offices each year. During your time with us, you will be involved in real work – drafting, undertaking research, attending meetings and interacting with a range of people across the firm. At the end of your vacation scheme, you will have an interview for a training contract.
To apply:
To apply for our summer vacation schemes or training contracts, you will need to complete an online application form. You can apply for our summer vacation schemes between October – January each year and for our training contracts between October – July each year. Diversity & Inclusion
We’ve always been proud of our natural commitment to diversity and inclusion. Championed by senior leaders and driven by teams across our business, TrowersIncludes brings together a network of groups and initiatives. These include age, ethnicity, gender, work and family, LGBTQ+, social mobility, religion and belief, and physical and mental wellbeing. Our networks are united in spreading the word about the positive impact of diversity and run a full calendar of events as well as highlighting issues and initiatives across our internal communications channels and via social media.
We were awarded top marks twice over for the Diversity and Inclusion and Mental Health and Wellbeing Initiative Awards at the CILEx National Awards and have one of the lowest gender pay gaps in the UK’s top 50 law firms.
With 42% of Trowers partners female, 7.1% British black, Asian and minority ethnic and 6.3% from the LGBT+ community, we’re aware that there’s more work to be done but are proud of the great strides forward we’ve made and the impact this is having.
