CheekyLittleCareers’ founder Sanu Miah and associate editor / career coach Husnara Begum (a former City lawyer) both see themselves as diversity champions. Husnara, in particular, has a deep interest in the steps law firms are taking to encourage aspiring lawyers from BAME and poorer socio-economic backgrounds to apply for training contracts. She acknowledges that progress has been made with regard to selection processes and that law firms are now reaching out to a broader mix of candidates. However, she is concerned about retention and worries that far too many BAME lawyers leave private practice or indeed the professional prematurely. CheekyLittleCareers shares this sentiment and is working with Husnara to investigate how we can offer support to BAME trainees to help them reach their full potential at work, including the potential launch of an affinity / networking group and business skills training sessions. To help us design an appropriate programme of support we want to hear from trainees about what they’d like to see included.

If you’d like to share your thoughts, ideas etc then please join Husnara for this all-important focus group.

To register for your FREE place, please email events@cheekylittlecareers.com with the Event Title in the subject heading. We will then send you a link to the Zoom registration page.
